There’s a Bill Cosby joke in here somewhere.
This is completely believable:
Every parent has his or her tricks — things that must be done to keep the house running. Brad Pitt is no different. In a recent interview with CBS This Morning, the Oscar-nominated actor (“Moneyball”) revealed that he sometimes has to rely on a certain carbonated beverage to get his kids moving in the morning.
“Listen, I admit there’s times like, ‘We gotta get up. Get up! Here’s your shoes. Here’s your shoes. Drink this Coke. Drink this Coca-Cola. Drink it all. Right now! Drink it! Drink it! Drink it!’ Just so we could get ‘em up and going,” Pitt confessed.
I am not being the least bit facetious when I say: that sounds just like a parent. “Now now now now now now now!” You gotta repeat yourself over and over and over again, just to make sure they heard you, much less obeyed.
I guess I’m a little surprised that Pitt and Angelina Jolie do these things themselves. Getting the kids up and ready for school? Hey, I’m not judging their parenting, but they’ve got six kids. And about a bazillion dollars between them. But they don’t hire anybody to help out?
Good for them, if that’s the case. But how can that possibly be the case? It’s hard enough with four, and with regular jobs.
On the other hand, Pitt’s description sounds way too realistic to be something he made up for the interview. Maybe somebody else (the nanny, perhaps) coached him on what to say? Or maybe he’s a big fan of “Bill Cosby, Himself?”
Or maybe it’s true, at least sometimes.
Good story, anyway. Very down-to-earth humanizing. Very 8-page spread in “People Magazine.”

Coca-cola comes from a bean, right? That’s a serving of vegetables right in the can! Also, sugar or corn syrup: also from a plant! Another vegetable! They’re 40% of their way to preventing cancer already.
