“All I need is a healthy ova and I can grow my own Ronald Reagan!”
This probably isn’t the creepiest online auction ever to be held, but it’s the creepiest one I’ve ever seen:
A glass vial which was used to hold a sample of President Ronald Reagan’s blood after an assassination attempt in 1981
The 5” glass vial with a half inch diameter has a green rubber stopper. Dried blood residue from President Reagan (1911-2004) can be seen clearly in the vial with a quarter-inch ring of blood residue at the end of the inserted rubber stopper.
A glass vial of Ronald Reagan’s blood. Dried up blood, to be specific, taken from him while he was in the hospital being treated for the gunshot wound he took in 1981. Current bid: 9,181 British Pounds.
Why’s the bidding being done in British Pounds? No idea.
What, precisely, does one do with a vial of someone’s dried-up blood? Even if it’s someone you admire…or maybe especially if it’s someone you admire? Put it out on the coffee table? On a shelf? Stick a piece of string through the stopper and wear it for a necklace?
Or maybe somebody’s thinking about the Sheldon Cooper theory…
