UPDATE – Cardinal Dolan will give the closing prayer at the Democratic National Convention.
Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, has accepted an invitation to deliver the closing prayer at next week’s Democratic National Convention. As was previously announced, he will also be offering the closing prayer at the Republican Convention on Thursday of this week.
Make sure and read her numbered points. Very important that we all absorb that, I think.
Like the story says, this means Dolan will give the closing prayer at both conventions. So, good. See, even when we’re horribly divided, we can come together and be thankful for what we have, and hopeful for better things to come.
At least, the Democrats should hope that’ll be the reaction from their floor. Remember the Boy Scouts.
UPDATE II – Da Tech Guy thinks he knows why the Dems decided to accept Dolan’s offer:
The Democratic National Committee is raising a number of eyebrows after choosing to proceed with hosting Islamic “Jumah” prayers for two hours on the Friday of its convention…
I, for one, will hope that the Islamic prayers have more in common than not with Dolan’s prayers.
