At first I was thinking: what a bunch of idiots the Democrats are, scheduling their convention between Labor Day and the NFL.
I mean, come on. Labor Day marks the beginning of school. Busier families. And the NFL – you think you can compete with the NFL’s kickoff week?
What morons.
But then I realized: this only makes them idiots if they really wanted people to watch. If they thought: we want people to see what we’re really all about! We can defend the last four years and prove we deserve another four! With congressional majorities!
If they thought that. If they want America’s attention. If they believe that their message will win out over the GOP’s.
Clearly, as evidenced by their choice of dates, they aren’t stupid enough to believe that. They are, however, quite willing to feign the stupidity required to schedule their convention between Labor Day and the NFL Kickoff, because when nobody’s paying attention, they have their best chance to win!
What geniuses.
