With polls shifting, Canada braces for influx of U.S. liberals fleeing the Romney/Ryan regime
How come liberals always threaten to move to Canada if the GOP wins? Why not to Mexico?
Andy Borowitz, writing in the New Yorker:
OTTAWA (The Borowitz Report)—Canada announced today that it was tightening security along its border with the United States amid concerns that there could be a mass migration of illegal Americans after Tuesday, November 6th.
The phrase “illegal Americans” in this context is amusingly ironic.
(Randolph McTavish, Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police) also warned Americans against trying to slip across the border in the hopes of passing as Canadians: “It is very difficult, if not impossible, to pretend to like hockey.”
Mr. McTavish said that he was sympathetic with those who might flee across the border in search of a new life and socialized medicine, but added, “At the end of the day, forty-seven per cent of Americans is more than Canada can handle.”
As another writer noted back in (I think) 2004: how many art history majors does Canada need, anyway?
Found over at Twitchy.com. The guys over there didn’t think it was funny, but I disagree.

It might be amusing to track the liberals who say that they’ll move and ask them why they didn’t after the election.
I haven’t heard as many of them threaten to leave this time around. Is that because they realize that Romney is a moderate?
I can understand a liberal wanting to move to Canada. After all, it is a lefty-type of place.
But did ya see all the conservatives that were saying they were moving to Canada when Obamacare was upheld?!

Would’ve been really funny if any followed through without doing any further research.
At least some of those people were being sarcastic. The rest of them just prove the GOP really is a big tent party.
