Instapundit has been linking to stories about the swine flu every other post or so. A reader of his writes:
I live around Toronto. During SARS life carried on even though churches were very empty, the subway was very empty, the restaurants were completely empty. For weeks!
The idea that someone would come to Toronto for a meeting was a joke. And they really didn’t want you visiting them either. It was weird to be a near pariah.
Gives me an idea: what city is Disneyworld in? Orlando?
I’ll bet Wisconsin Dells (right up the road from here) would benefit greatly if Orlando suddenly got a couple dozen cases of swine flu. Or, y’know, if somebody suggested they had.
If only there was some way an otherwise ordinary person could quickly propagate an untrue rumor. Oh, well, it’s probably for the best.
Say: those meetings that didn’t take place in Toronto…where was Montreal while that was going on? Ottawa? Can they account for their whereabouts?
