Why doesn’t anybody ever mention Gov. Rick Perry?

September 5, 2009

I’m still not sure why Rick Perry doesn’t get mentioned in articles like this:

GOP Turns to Surprising Names for 2012

Or:

Republicans banking on 2012 election

They mention the usuals: Huckabee, Palin. They mention some unusuals: Gen. Petraeus, Joe Scarsborough. They mention some mundanes: Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels; former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA); freshman Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN).

But not Texas Governor Rick Perry – a two-term Governor, running for his third term this year, who governs a state that has weathered the recession as well as or better than any other.

Is there something about Perry that I don’t know? Some past indiscretion that would prevent him? Somebody do some research or something, huh?

UPDATE – Oh, he’s an Aggie. No wonder, then.
